Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Aug 15
Pale, bright yellow. Tangy aromas of orange, lemon, crushed stone and smoke. Fine-grained and deep, displaying lovely depth to its citrus and floral flavors. Showing a bit more oak than most of the other 2013s, as the Raveneaus used what Bernard described as younger old barrels to age this wine. In an essentially fruity, supple style, finishing with good energy and fresh herbal lift.

Chablis

Chablis, the northernmost Burgundy region, is famed for its crisp, mineral-driven Chardonnay wines. Unlike rich, oaky Chardonnays, Chablis wines, influenced by the cool climate and limestone-rich soils, feature vibrant acidity and flavours of green apple, citrus, and flint. Ideal with seafood, especially oysters, Chablis wines come in four appellations: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru, and Chablis Grand Cru. Esteemed producers like Domaine William Fèvre, François Raveneau, and Vincent Dauvissat are known for their classic, terroir-expressive wines.
